Bella's Angels, Inc. (formerly the Bella Cavallo Foundation) was formed in 2005 after the friends and family of Bella Cavallo found themselves struggling to find financial help with the mounting medical and travel expenses associated with the general lack of knowledge locally in diagnosing and treating Bella. After years of searching for answers and traveling across the country to meet with various medical specialists, Bella was officially diagnosed with CHARGE SYNDROME at age four.
These same family and friends knew that there had to be other families of special-needs children that were seeking medical treatment outside their local area but were unable to access this care for their children because of the extensive financial costs involved with the travel expenses. It was at that point that Kerry Cavallo (Bella’s mom) and Jamie Spear (a good friend of the family) co-founded this 501 ( c ) 3 non-profit organization to help defray some of these travel costs and finally make that much-needed medical care accessible. Bella’s Angels has continued to grow and expand to now assisting families with other medical expenses not covered by their private insurance. We have used the knowledge gathered over the course of years in finding care for Bella to help these families.
