Fischer
Fischer was born with CHARGE Syndrome on June 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, FL. Although this little guy faces lots and lots of challenges and has several serious medical issues, he is a very happy child. He was born with only one kidney, profound hearing loss, the inability to swallow, fluid on his brain and partial facial paralysis. Every week Fischer has doctors appointments and multiple therapies with many different specialists. He is a very strong and smart kid who amazes everyone around him with his constant strength and determination. As Fischer's family says "One thing we have learned is to NEVER underestimate a child with CHARGE. We at Bella's Angels agree with this whole heartedly!!!
We found this Buddy through very unusual circumstances. Just two weeks after his birth, while still in the NICU, one of Fisher's nurses heard our Bella's Angels Charity Spotlight on a local morning radio show. The nurse then shared Bella's Angels with Fischer's family and suggested they contact us for assistance and support. Within 48hours of receiving the message on our website our Family Services Director met the family at the hospital and began helping them form a comprehensive medical team. In addition to on going Parent to Parent support, Bella's Angels has assisted Fischer's family by covering the costs of frequent medical trips to Miami for pertinent care and treatments. Over the past few years we have taken such joy in watching Fischer grow and reach his milestones!
