Meet Ari!

Seeing the World in His Own Special Way 

Ari is a sweet and determined boy who is learning to experience the world in his own special way. From the beginning, Ari’s family knew he saw things a little differently. He was diagnosed with nystagmus, which causes his eyes to move involuntarily and can make it difficult for him to focus and see clearly. As doctors learned more about Ari, they discovered a few more pieces of his unique story, including achromatopsia which is what causes his nystagmus. It is a rare condition that affects his vision and makes bright lights especially challenging.

Ari is legally blind works with a wonderful team of specialists and therapists who help him learn, grow, and find new ways to explore the world around him. During the journey of finding answers to what was causing Ari’s nystagmus, there was an incidental finding of a brain cyst that is carefully monitored.

While Ari may experience the world differently than many other children, that certainly doesn't stop his curiosity! He continues to learn new things, make progress, and discover what he can do every day!
