A Smile That Says It All

Leia is a resilient and determined girl who has faced more challenges than most children her age. What began as a febrile seizure in 2017 has grown into a daily battle with epilepsy, cerebral ataxia, and autism, including uncontrollable seizures that have led to hospital stays, countless tests, and many different treatments. Her official diagnosis's are intractable epilepsy without status epilepticus, cerebral ataxia, autism, complex febrile convulsions, developmental language disorder, and global developmental delay.

Alongside her seizures, Leia works hard every day to overcome challenges with speech, balance, walking, and development. Her week is filled with therapies including speech, feeding, physical, and occupational therapy, all of which help her build skills and become more independent. She has a wonderful service dog, Effie, who aid Leia in her everyday life.

Through every setback, Leia continues to show incredible strength. Her family remains determined to give her every opportunity to thrive. With the right support, Leia can keep fighting for those next milestones and continue showing the world just how strong she truly is.
