Meet Shepherd!
Big Strength in a Little Boy
Shepherd is a strong and special boy who has faced more medical challenges than most children his age. He was born with VACTERL Association, a rare condition that caused congenital differences affecting his heart, spine, kidneys, legs, and thumbs.
At just three years old, Shepherd underwent surgery to release his tethered spinal cord. He also has several extra vertebrae, some of which have begun to fuse, requiring continued monitoring and specialized care as he grows.
Despite all of these challenges, Shepherd continues to grow, learn, and enjoy being a kid. His family is committed to giving him the best care possible and making sure he has the support he needs to thrive.
Shepherd has already shown incredible strength, and with the right care and resources, his family hopes to help him build a healthy, happy, and independent future.
